Jungle Encounter

At times I get a sudden urge to write poetry. Just yesterday I rushed up to my dad to ask (or did I shout? =D ) for a topic for an 'On the spot poetry-writing'.I was given a topic called 'Jungle encounter'. Fresh from a trip to an elephant reserve, I had some ideas.

Well,it goes like this....

JUNGLE ENCOUNTER

Rustling leaves and swaying trees,
Muddy paths and a silent breeze.
With my binoculars I look far away,
To find a place where some elephants lay.
As I cross nettle leaves and wisteria flowers,
The tall trees loom up like huge towers.

Between the chirping of cuckoos and the cawing of crows,
Come a trumpeting sound of a wild elephant.
Rushing towards the noise a little far away,
I see a herd of elephants with ears of pink and grey.

What do you think?
